Reaching Out Poem by Boudhayan Mukherjee

Reaching Out

Rating: 5.0

Branch off to extreme happiness
Then arrest divine light.

Bind your extremes with darkness
Or with the dazzle of that light.

I've been waiting to see your eyes
Gifted by god.Eyes that cry and drop tears.

The girl who dances when she's in love.

The boy within his mother's womb like a girl
Turns robust and becomes a noisy lad.
He is an icon of the family.

The summer turned the asphalt road slippery
Our car wheels slipped, my reflexes jarred on steering wheel

The words at dawn and dusk
Are so different from nocturnal muse.
The printed words jump out of the page
And sometimes you've to shield your eyes from black arrows.
Yet they exude charm and beauty
Wish to blend with nature, time and space
Flap like the wings of an angel

Transforming the reader to see the sharp desires of light
Or laid-back peace of a shady grove where we shall rest all day.
