I wonder if I smiled
If it'd be okay with you
if you were my reason?

I can't rely on anything
except that dreams are unreliable;
but in in instant, I want this dream to stay
while all my others fade away

And if you were the one
who could read me
actually read everything in me
I wonder if you'd understand?
To be the place
where he's been so long
I worry about destroying him
though he's hurt me so long

Must you know somebody
to feel this way?
Or just know that you want
to know them, and the suspense
of it all is almost more than you can take?
