Reality Poem by Ena Di Rocco

Reality

Light shines down from the full moon,
It’s a light that used to free me from my fears.
But now it makes me feel all alone, and soon
It won’t help me stop my tears.

It brings me the cold,
And it makes me tremble and shiver and shake.
I remember the story he once told,
And it brings back the hurt and I now know it was fake.

The beach is abandoned, no one to be seen,
The water is as dark as this starless night.
How could he be so mean,
It just doesn’t seem right.

Far away, I hear a cry,
And suddenly I feel,
A tear escaping my eye.
And I finally realize this is real!
