He tells you looks don't matter,
He says it's what's inside that counts,
but you just change the channel
because Miss America is on.
The models are so skinny;
they're all so beautiful,
and to them looks DO matter-
it's the only thing that counts.
And who would you believe:
a man with mismatched shoes,
or a model with a crown?

My dear Anonymous, First of all I wouldn't believe either one of them but I have met men who wore mismatched shoes, and they actually knew what they were talking about. Miss America, while bringing women out into the public eye, is actually an insult to women. The Miss America Pageant was started by a man, who wanted to look at beautiful women in all manner of skimpy dress. Your poem gives the reader a good look into themselves, and makes the reader really think about today's philosophies. I give you a perfect 10 for this. Love & hugs, Barbara
