Reborn Poem by Rudi de Beer

Reborn

rotten his heart
crooked his smile

broken his promises
lost in denial

crazed by greed
loved by slaves

a kingdom on cash
lead his heart to dust

let alcohol consume his consumers
and cigarettes smoke his slaves

a bullet for his brain
smoked up and down the drain

his consumers left for dead
due to the effects of money bled

out in the streets of drinks
and allies of needles

alcohol passed out
and cigarettes coughed up
now the youth is seeking drugs

where is their salvation
will they be redeemed
only drugs and money led them it seemed

but there is a solution

in a rather simple form

go to God

be reborn

I'm impressed. The opening couplets of this poem have a lot of impact. Keep writing.
