Recall Poem by Alistair Tait

Recall

Now I am older,
memories become bolder.
Submerged below banality,
breaking through to reality.

Those days gone by,
I wonder why,
I've had no thought of any kind
of things that should stay in mind.

Where did they go,
and what brought them back?
Will I ever know?
What did I lack?

Some are so good,
happily understood.
Many are bad, making me sad.
Forget them and be glad.

Now it's now or never.
They'll soon be gone for ever.
My mind is gently losing,
as life is slowly closing.
