Recently Beyond Special Poem by Barry Van Allen

There are some folks that pass through,
that transcend the things they do,
few and far between they are,
but, you know them when you see them.

Pope John Paul the second,
was absolutely one of those,
I am not religious, 'nor Catholic for that matter,
but, I always knew that there was something,
very special there!

I may be seeing that again today,
and I have always had that feeling,
... about the Queen!

Make no mistake about it,
I am glad that she belongs to them,
... although I have a feeling, that she,
belongs to the whole world.
... and believe she has a sense of that.

Maybe, Lincoln might have been that way,
maybe, Gandhi may have been like that,
but, in recent world history...
I am hard pressed to find another.

Maybe, Martin Luther King, or J.F.K,
some would put forth Eisenhower,
and others Doug MacArthur,
even others Fidel Castro, or Mao,
or even Stalin! - - - even Hitler!

I just never got the feeling,
that any one of them, quite measured up,
to Pope John Paul the second,
or Queen Elizabeth the second!
