Red Dirt Foss Poem by Marilyn Lott

Red Dirt Foss

Down that red dirt road I traveled
Along my memory lane
Thought I’d trace my past one day
To see what stayed the same

The road was kinda rugged
As up the hill I climbed
Looks the way it used to
After so many years in time

Red dirt cactus along the road
Red dirt water in a pond
Time stood still for me, you know
Seeing things that I am fond

Slowed down when I saw horses
They came running to the fence
Excited they were to visit
But I haven’t seen them since

It’s a day I’ll long remember
The red dirt Foss from in the day
When it was time to head back home
I turned and slowly made my way!
