Red Light Poem by Bragg Adocio

Red Light

Rating: 2.7

When I'm with you it's like I'm flying. I don't even realize it until I crash.
Wondering why I didn't look both ways, why I didn't stop and think, 'how did I get so lost! ? '
Realizing that it's all your fault..... you are why I'm to blame.
Love, is like runnin a red light during 3o'clock traffic In a blue bmw:
Accidental.
You never choose, to fall in love, it just happens.
Like a car crash.
Driving down the street in my blue bmw without a care in the world. Never even saw that red light.
My mind was elsewhere, maybe in a dream somewhere, or a memory of good times passed.
Love is like a mack truck barreling down on you from your periferal vision...... it knocks you down.
You can't stop it. Your only hope is to brace for impact, And hope that your little world in your blue bmw survives the wreckage.
I never saw the light. Didn't notice the change. My mind was elsewhere, My eyes diverged.
What was it? The cell phone?
I thought I heard your ringtone and suddenly my car was on clouds and I was flying again as I scrambled for my cell.
Just 3 more seconds to the answering machine!
.......
Silence..... and a 5-ton mack truck 2inches from my face. I guess I didn't see the green light change, nor the yellow come after. But I see the red now. The deep pulsing red that flows through my veins.
And even though I have less than a second before that stop-light-red blood is all over the front end of this 5-ton truck, splattered halfway across the intersection to the sidewalk, and all over my brand new blue bmw..... all I can think about, is that your favorite color is red.
