Red Moon Poem by Tanec Rayl

Red Moon

where it all ended
our bitter crusade in the name of principle
powerless, cursed, progeny of immortal love
embraced with harebrained intemperance
trapped now, cold and deliberate
beneath mean and salted earth

manifest as Nature's avatar I sent for you
a last pathetic act of biblical ugliness
come now, elusive and vague
a dead angel bearing witness to this world's last scourge
rare as a true name
common as the Crone
broken at last
