Red Wine Red Roses Poem by Rik Bertrand

Red Wine Red Roses

It was a cool dark night
And the stars were out.
A beautiful, lovely setting
With love all about.

It was a meeting of chance,
A brush with the future
It was a feeling of love,
And the taste of sweet rapture.

We set at a table
And we had a quaint dinner
And in the end
I found there was no winner.

Red Wine, Red Roses,
And a beauty so divine
A vision of loveliness
In a different time.

It was just one beautiful night
In the mystical light
A vision of loveliness,
a most amazing sight.
