Reflection Poem by Evette Morales

Reflection

Who am I really?
Just a person
With meaning

But I guess I am broken
Or so says my
Reflection

It says I am worthless
A fool
With no purpose
I look at the surface
And find nothing worth this

Because you left me broken
My heart cracked and open
But you can't see nothing
Except my reflection

I am me
I am nothing
I am here
With eyes wide open

Just look beyond
The reckless
Picture upon

Eyes shining bright
With the tears of rejection
That's what you wanted
Shallow perfection

I am me
I am nothing
I am here
With eyes wide open

You can breath out
And I can breath in
There is always
Something
Beneath the nothing
