Reflections Poem by Mark Arvizu

Reflections

I saw it and it took me back 10,00 days
To endless dreams and playful streets

Lon saw it and he ripped his clothes
And he howled and he screamed

Van saw it and he saw stars in your eyes and asked you to dance
John saw it and he felt the earth quake as it started to rise

The King saw it and he felt alone
As he prayed and crooned as it turned him blue

Uncle Sam saw it and he claimed it for his own
The cow jumped so high the dish ran off with the spoon

Moses saw it and warned them
Joshua saw and he stilled it

The kings saw it and bowed down in idolatry
The people saw it and ate a feast

Every eye with sight shall cast upon it their glare
As forever it reflects the man in the mirror
