Bones of the secular carcass are blessed,
Yet living scriptures struggle to be heard.
Feats of sporting icons flood consciousness,
Yet the sacred Word struggles to be heard.
Neon and plastic embellish fashion,
Yet old, wooden crosses are discarded.
Fake roses replace flowers of passion,
As Ways of the Spirit are retarded.
Loud, quick fix solutions are all the rage,
Yet quiet prayers are hidden away.
Adverts flash brightly on every webpage,
Yet no one's keen to sell Mercy or Grace.
Many are lost in a digital haze,
Yet transcendent ways seem to be deplored.
Cold, self-seeking celebrities are praised,
Yet Christ's blood sacrifice is now ignored.
