These Days 3
These days, everyone seems distracted by their
Portable universes; their cool, handheld phones.
Nobody seems inclined to engage or converse
With anyone else. O what a sad state of affairs!
What the hell's going on? ! What have we become?
Are we now mere servants of corporate control?
Apathy should be classed as a social disease;
Not something to be worn like a badge of honour.
When a little boy, a story was told of monkeys and salesman of hats... We seem to behave like that... Congrats for POD.
I guess the big corporations are the hat seller and we are the monkeys following blindly
This is so true, at my age I have seen so many changes and hope that the old adage comes true soon " this too shall pass! " Congratulations for having this poem become Poem of the Day!
