A special time of the year to share
Thoughts of memories that linger
Wrapping ribbon around your finger
Presents scattered beneath the tree
What Christmas really means to me....
Seeing the joy in anothers eyes
As they open their gift with a look of surprise
The closeness of family, the ones we hold dear
Our children who grow, year after year
Reflections of moments from Christmas past
Photographs in my mind, that forever last
The best present of all, is the one of ourselves
Not something that can be put away on a shelf
A kind word, a hug, perhaps just a smile
These are the gifts that last all the while.
