Regret Poem by Wyndon Villafuerte

Regret

All those chances that I missed
All those times I could've kissed
I was so foolish and naïve
All those times I couldn't achieve
The goal that I set out to do --
I wanted to express to you
But being close to you I stutter
Those three words I couldn't utter
Feelings of regret with each passing day
For letting this love slip away
Those past nights I've dreamed about
What my life would be without
Your love to keep me safe and warm
From all of life's obstacles and harm
In this lifetime I cannot fathom
In the darkness being lonesome
To go through life like a zombie
Knowing that this love will never be
I know that I am stronger now
I hope that someday and somehow
That one day... one day
The stars in the sky, in my favor, may align
And grant me the chance to make you mine
