Regret - Poem by Cynthia Sok

In life
which I soulfully held in my hands
I took the chance
and gave it to the knife

Now in death
and in every single heavy breath
I have realized what I threw away

Now I have to confide
that I wished I had gone back to that day
and not so hastily threw everything away
