Rejection Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Rejection

Give it a rest, i'm not impressed
I gave you more, you gave me less
and since then I've decided to repress
What I've been feeling was a lie
and you know it can't continue
and can't nobody else love you quite like I do
When you find those kisses don't hold passion
Lust is a thief that stole your heart
and had you assassin-ed
who's going to love you when you are down?
who's going to love you when i'm not around?
You'd be left destitute with nothing to treasure
but now you have seen this was a hopeless endeavor
dearest one, why even call?
when you know it's lost it's thrall
Come around too late with some affection
but you won't have to wait for this rejection
