Rejuvenated, When We Wake Up Poem by Veeraiyah Subbulakshmi

Rejuvenated, When We Wake Up

You can do it without any license,
on the comfortable bed or on the streets,
none can stop you from doing it,
even someone does, you are at work,
with drowsy eyes, unintelligible jest,
throats are choked, the voice is coarse,
your neighbors do it in their slums,
where you hold your nose, whenever you cross,
the sages do it under the crow dwelling trees,
the babies do it with real peace and terrific innocence,
whether they suck from the flattened breasts,
or gulping the milk of cows added with additional nutrients,
I do it when I am too tired and not worried of the worries.
