You seem to have a talent for the figurative language. I really like how you 'see' relationships inside of the people...a mountain of gems, terrible scars to be extracted or excised. Nice flow throughout the poem. In the beginning you give us pictures to relate to, in stanza 2 you give us the spectrum highlighting the extremes, and in the end, you give us your impressions.
