Remember Poem by Kai Schultz

Remember

I sit in the grass
The sun on my face,
Thinking of your smile
Remembering how you would
Always be there when I cried
Saying it was going to be ok.

I remember how your eyes sparkled
As you looked deep into mine
Your eyes so luminescent,
I could never turn away.

I remember the soft warmth
Of your lips when you kissed me
Making my heart melt.

I remember the day you said
' I love you'
Making my breath stop
Such sacred words, made me sing.

But then, i remember that fateful day
You lying in bed
Your breath slow and shallow
As you say good-bye
With that smile
I remember it so well

I sit in the grass today
By your grave
Thinking of you
And I smile knowing
You are thinking of me too.
