Remember Me When I Was Young Poem by Alexander Thomas

Remember Me When I Was Young

Remember me when I was young,
When I stretched my arms out to all the places far flung,
To those sublime divine dreams I clung,
On that great love I was hung,
Remember me when I was young…

Chariots of fire of burning desire,
Handfuls of gold and riches untold,
Bottomless chalices in grand palaces,
Drunk and hazy and days so crazy!

Remember me when I was young,
When poetry was always on the tip of my tongue,
When I ran, leapt and sprung,
When those heart strings I strung,
And the glorious songs we sung,
Remember me when I was young…

Flying on hooves faster than air moves,
Glancing steel with ardent zeal,
Fearless of death with gaping breath,
With boundless powers shouting from the towers!

Remember me when I was young,
When the Gods we were among,
When we climbed and climbed every rung,
And in the heavens we swung,
Remember me when I was young…

Remember
me
