Can you recall the smoke and fire
That brought so much pain in that hour?
Planes and towers the young and old
Waiting for the news to finally be told
Heroes in blue our security peace
In that moment all sirens cease
Heroes in red our warriors of flame
By crushing embers their lives were claimed
Mothers and wives screaming for their men
Praying to God that they come home again
Eleven years later the tears still fall
On the day we mourn yet still standing tall
Firefighters and police answered their calling
Honor their memory remember the fallen
