After Christina Rossetti
I'd rather you rejoice and smile
than sigh in my permanent absence
past sweet memories to keep
in your remembrance -
such beauty and consolation
it is-- in this uninterruptible silence
watched over by the tender moon and stars
beyond the pale of earthly confusion-
nightly in my longing dreams
I'll delight in your presence
not a single need be spoken
as children in purest innocence -
there's no darkness in this ever-land
only the dazzling light in truest resplendence
I'm still by your side as the days of long ago
as our hearts mingle in eternal radiance
