Reminiscence... Poem by anisha agrawal

Reminiscence...

Rating: 5.0

Walking down the memory lane,

the memories of our first meeting I recollect.

'Twas a warm summer morning,

a brightly lit sky,

waiting on the bus stop,

thrilled and excited was I!

In no time the bus came by,

Hastily & nervously I got by!

Unknown faces, familiar looks;

Most places were already booked!

Luckily I got a place,

the bus rode in an overwhelming pace!

It was then I saw you getting in,

maybe you were in the same state as I was in!

First glimpse of college excited me,

throbbing my heart upto infinity!

I was then you caught my eye,

and decided to walk by my side.

Chatting with you I realized,

You were higher in confidence;

I was demoralized! ! !

Thought you were not

one of my kind.

But yet I managed to laugh with you,

managed to stand by you.

Two years have gone by,

the memories of our first meeting

I can't forget.

Things changed, people changed, seasons changed;

but you remained you!

That annoyance over your confidence,

on your attitude has ebbed.

Your character suddenly seems,

so powerful.

You now stand as my greatest support,

steadily as I walk forth

Now even eyes convey you

what my lips miss.

O' Friend I say

never leave me alone

in my despair nor solitude

'coz I haven't learnt to deal,

haven't learnt to live without you!

Through these years I have realized

I love you more than my life

Our friendship is priceless,

without it I'm lifeless! !

O' Friend I wish to say

I need you all my life

Now always & forever...
