Rest Poem by Joel Baldwin

Rest

I quest for sleep
But I'm so far awake
The great pallbearers
Know their mistake
Out from the parlor
And into the ground
The gravest of errors
Will never be found
The gravest of terrors
Six feet underground

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this in a semi-attempt to write something similar to a poem by Poe; it just flowed out of me, and I wrote it down.
COMMENTS OF THE POEM

I love this poem. It is written with the simplicity of Emily Dickinson and Sylvia Plath yet it holds an underlying meaning that is perhaps more evokative than its surface meaning. Nicely done.
