She lay so sweet and pure
She looked so calm and demure
Laying in her coffin so nice
I thought I saw her move here eyes

She was born a long time ago
I know I will miss her so
Yet I know this was a blessing
I even remember our wedding

God why did you take my life away
You have destroyed me by taking my wife away
Life can be so cruel sometimes
All I can do is dropp my head and close my eyes.

My beloved is dead
I cannot raise my head
Tears run from my eyes
This came as such a surprise

Death comes to us all so they say
So death took my wife away
When he took away her soul
He also took away my soul!
