Rest To Rise Poem by Tony Cemaluk

Rest To Rise

Rest is not surrender, not fatigue, not despair,
It is reloading.

The lion does not sleep because he is weak,
He sleeps to hunt refreshed, restored, reinvigorated.

Silence is not empty,
It is sharpening.
Roar, claw, canine - all being honed in quiet.

To rise, you must rest,
To fly, you must fold the wings.
Rest is not only for the tired,
It is how power proves it knows when to pause.
