Resting On The Breeze Poem by Lu Vernezze

Resting On The Breeze

I don't disagree with the future
I wont hide away from the past
I'll never pretend to be something i'm not
This time will have to last

For how many years we can muster
For however far we can reach
Life must not be wasted
We must practise what we preach

I can't ever imagine
Waking up without a home
Walking to the shelters
Of the poor and the homeless swarm

So i must take it upon my shoulders
To help the needy grow
Yes i'm one of the lucky ones
I've never realised it much before

Yes i'll reach out my hand
And i'll help with all my strength
To get you to where i am now
This life is not for lent

Maybe one day we can make it
Maybe we'll all live in peace
But until then i will not stop
Till i'm resting on the breeze
