Revelation Poem by Ranju Mozammel Haque

Revelation

At times the boy can be seen standing alone,
Waiting…
Waiting under the simmering summer sun!
He waits shelter-less
For someone special to come by…
A coy girl
He madly in love with!

The girl pays the penalty
So often
For her wanton way
To spoil his rendezvous!
Perhaps a coward kiss on the sly -
Or a lukewarm touch of tenderness -
A certain commotion
Intrigues their muted union!

The girl feels a bit puzzled
Sometimes…
Oblivious of the bleak future
He holds.
Yet she craves for him -
An ocean of love
Flows towards this brawny boy!

Sometimes the boy is a big letdown…
He torments the girl
With needless strain!
Yet she seems intensely riveted…
In listening to his inflated stories…
She immerses deep into his reverie!

Often the rain clouds
Hover round their desolate sky…
Yet they set sail
Towards the perilous sea…
With no compass to navigate,
Their fate hangs over their inky destiny!

The dim horizon
Mimics their forlorn smile…
They forbear all odds
To die another day!
The gusty wind lashes thunder bolts
Down on their trail
Yet their eyes glisten
To the lightning ray!

Folks, what do you make of this utter madness…
A naive love affair?
Is it a fairytale I am telling?
Or, I'm telling you our own love-story!

Oh, I fail to decipher!
