Yazidis of Mesopotamia,
Lost in Time and Place,
People of hope and very little expectations,
A shadow out of space conjured,
To their very modest way of life yet injured by war,
And Magi said,
' No one knows our destination! ',
Who really knows?
Yet the great Lord of abundance and wisdom,
Magi pointed to three stars,
Shaped in a triangle,
People gathered in frustration and disbelief,
The light came closer and Yazidis knelt,
Magi called the Lord,
'Y' ah throdog ph' nafl'fhtagn throdog shugg, Y' ah throdog uh'eog ot shugnah. Gnaiih ot nilgh'ri shugnahh, '
Amen,
Enki descended,
In majesty and dignity,
In the most splendid phosphorous attire,
And Yazidis saw the heaven,
And all disappeared in a wink.
