The Pharaoh's Dragonfly Poem by Erfan Rezaei

The Pharaoh's Dragonfly

Paddling on light reed boats through the papyrus thickets,
Fishing and fowling,
The daughter of the Pharaoh saw a dragonfly,
Perched on a reed with a frog dangerously close by,
Lucid sun casted a shimmering glow through the stained glass of its wings,
Hunting on the marshy wetlands of Nile teeming with divine beauty,
Whirling in the sky of ecstasy,
Days flew by each wing flap,
Greet Mereruka for the wedding bridal dress of her,
For a hair clip on,
Or an amulet on her grandmother's shroud,
The dragonfly flew through black nights and warm days,
The dragonfly flew through the time.
