Revelations Poem by Singleton M. Tate

Revelations

Recalling the heartbreak of many years
Eventually it would cost me blood, sweat and tears
Vices... now crisis... this feels like war
Endured relentless brutality... knocked to the floor
Left with deep scars... my emotions... burnt to the core
At first it was passion... I danced amongst the stars
Then it was just a lie... I'm the one... behind bars
Is it past time to say goodbye?
On my mind a thousand questions why
Numb... but not a fool today... nor ever again
Sweet Love did away with every... loose end
