Revolution Poem by Sruthi Sahadevan

Revolution

Rating: 5.0

Azure sky,
Smiling at me,
Filled my heart with eternal joy.
The glare of the sun,
Turned my gloom into ecstasy.
The gliding clouds,
Made my thoughts run wild.
The serenity of the seas,
Filled my insides with peace…
The dancing waves, Taught my soul new steps.
The fragrant blossoming flowers,
Showed me,
How to raise my head and smile…
The harmony of the untouched nature,
Led me to love my fellowmen.

Years passed,
Into a new generation,
Where the sky had lost its blue.
The glare of the sun,
Was covered by a veil of dark clouds.
The chirping of birds,
Lost amidst racket of machines…
The world seems to be dead,
Cos the winds have bid goodbye.
The seas ‘rich in oil’,
Creating havoc everywhere…
Waves thirsty for revenge,
Consuming lives,
Not even a chance for redemption.
Nature exploited to the zenith,
Is pleading us to stop harassing her…
Amidst hitech machines,
Living like machines…
We hav forgetten to love,
Destruction and violence prevail….

Very true. Man in his quest for invention has gone quite far, exploring areas which are the basis of nature. It would be great if we leave those machines once in a while and get back to the basics of saying hello to our neighbours and add that personal touch in whatever we do, take care of nature, and teach our (talking about the adults) children to have a mind and heart which cares, shunning violence. Nice Reality Check.....10+++
