'Rewa - Poem by Samuel Obono Jr

what a spectacle to behold!
The secrets of your splendour remain untold
even as you walk this sands of time
so opulent your black skin
even the sun extols your shine

'tis gold encompassing your neck and all
I'm forever at your beck and call
the world knows what you are
for your resplendence is seen from afar

I've seen suitors lick your feet
pristine and sweet
your grace overshadows your age
yet they inquire of you your hand in marriage

beauty beyond blemish
shall you never perish
sparkles of splendour that speaks
a home to all that seeks

pride of a mother
your children and all your brothers

an embodiment of treasures
your radiance is my pleasure
you remained robed in majesty
for you we run- free!
