Rewriting Her Poem by Vinaya Joseph

Rewriting Her

Her worth is not in tasks she performs,
But in her spirit,
In how she transforms,
She builds worlds with gentle hands,
She shapes futures,
She understands.

Not just a symbol of beauty and charm,
She is strength,
A shelter from harm,
Not an object to be used and cast,
But a beacon of light that forever lasts.

She must see her power, her worth,
A force of nature, grounded in earth,
To end the exploitation,
To dry her tears,
She must rise above the myths and fears.

She is not weak,
Not just to fulfill
The whims of others against her will,
She is an individual,
Flesh and blood,
With dreams that rise like a powerful flood.

Her value is infinite,
Her soul a treasure,
Her heart beats in a unique measure,
Let her live,
Free and strong,
Let her sing her own song.

For every flaw, every imperfection,
Adds to her beauty, her reflection,
All I ask of the world, plain and true,
Is to honor her spirit in all she can do.

She is a mother, a daughter,
A sister, a wife, and many more,
In all these roles,
She finds her place,
A unique value,
A radiant grace,
Above all titles,
She stands alone,
A human being...

Let us give our thanks,
For her unconditional, unpaid ranks,
She is the caretaker, the society's heart,
From dawn to dusk, she plays her part.

In gratitude, we must now stand,
To honor the work of her gentle hand,
She serves without expecting pay,
Her love and care light up our way.

Let her live, let her shine,
Recognize her worth, divine,
For in every role, she plays her part,
She is the world's very heart.
She is a queen in her own right,
A star so bright in the darkest night.
