Rich Fantasy Lives Poem by Joshua Swanson

Rich Fantasy Lives

Far from here there is a place,
Of which I can only dream,
Where a sword and a shield are a sign of valour,
Where battles are glorious,
and love is alive

I wield arcana and fly through the air,
On the wings of a spell I can go anywhere.
I creep through the forest and climb up the mountains,
Seek danger and glory and strife;
I quest for the princess, fight dragons and demons,
And all in my alternate life.

For there I'm a warrior, there I'm a warlord,
there I'm a king above kings;
While my dreary existence drags on day to day,
in my dreams I'm the master of all things.

I stand on a tower and summon the winds,
just to feel them rush through my hair.
I see all the world spread out before me,
And wish above all I could stay there.

The orcs and the ogres, the knights and the gnomes,
all the beings of light and of darkness,
They welcome me in to my hearts one true home,
And I wish I could somehow move there.
