Joshua Swanson Poems

I could sail all the worlds oceans,
And travel all the many, many lands,
And not find such powerful emotions,
As I feel stir within beneath your hands.
...

I bend my back and taste the lash,
That leaves a line of molten ash,
And moan with lust I can't contain,
And weep a heartfelt plea for pain.
...

If only you could hear the people sing,
And dance throughout the long and lonely night,
When joy and sadness seem both to take wing,
...

It
It was
It was a
Dark and stormy
...

Angels feathers drift down from the moon,
To brush my skin as with silken lips.
A thousand lovers kiss and caress,
A thousand strokes with a thousand whips.

When the snow is falling it is time to say goodbye;
Clouds of snow are falling, falling, from a leaden sky;
Clouds of snow are rising - snow that's soft, and warm, and dry.
...

I touch my fingers to the mirror,
Feel them slowly start to sink,
Into the deep morass of feelings,
And thoughts I canot bear to think.
...

I reach out my hand,
Gently stroke your hair-
Feel it fade away,
A ghost of a care,
...

My life will end at the end of this journey,
The dagger held by my own hand,
And only I will hear the whisper,
Of my soul as it flees the land.
...

My shattered heart bleeds softly in the silence of the night,
My silken soul unwound and torn to cry a silent plight,
My blood beats firmly through my wrist, a line of scarlet flares,
A fragile thread of life drawn clean that catches unawares.
...

11.

I am the silence between beats;
I am the stillness of the breath;
I am the drifting void of thought;
I am the open hand of death.
...

12.

I touch my fingers to the mirror,
Feel them slowly start to sink,
Into the deep morass of feelings,
And thoughts I hardly dare to think.
...

Murder wears a pretty face;
Murder wears a pretty lace;
Murder bears a pretty scar;
Murder stalks you, from afar.
...

14.

I think therefore I am,
I know myself to be;
I sense that there is more,
But what I cannot see.
...

There are some things about me that are hidden,
Sone things that I will never, ever tell.
The thoughts that in the night arise unbidden,
From the darkest silence of my souls deep well.
...

A land of drifting mists and rolling plains,
Of fields; and forests filled with ancient trees,
And the pleasent fall of frequest rains,
That pitter-patter up among the leaves.
...

I know there's nothing in life but pain,
And nothing but torment yet to be,
Thats why its better to reign in hell than rule in heaven,
Its better because you'll never be free!
...

I was what I
I was will be
be but never could
could never see
...

19.

A selection of Haiku:

Vibrant life leaps high
...

I walk alone, a cold hard road,
Through keening winds on mountains high.
I see the chasms on either side,
I took the path less travelled by.

Come With Me

I could sail all the worlds oceans,
And travel all the many, many lands,
And not find such powerful emotions,
As I feel stir within beneath your hands.
Whether I lie beside you or above,
You wake in me the rhythme of desire,
To share with you the highest peaks of love,
And quench once more the ever-burning fire.
Your name I know and yet I do not care;
For we are one, my heart is ever thine.
If god might grant me but a single prayer,
I would we might forever be entwined.
So I commit these words to humble ink,
To give to you, whatever you may think.
