Rick Dipietro Poem by Brian Hinckley

Rick Dipietro

Rating: 5.0

With an infectious smile
and a joy for life,
Ricky waits for the season
to begin anew.

Injuries and tough losses
are shrugged off and moved on.
Brilliant saves and miracle wins
are what marks his young career.

He is considered one of the best,
up there despite his youth.
He shrugs the praise off
and smiles.

Donning the blue and orange,
he takes the ice.
Save after save,
he sets new Islander records.

Despite all the accolades and critics,
Ricky just smiles.
He has found a home on Long Island
and a family in the fans.
