Ride The Chariot Clouds Poem by Nona Vaught

Ride The Chariot Clouds

Rating: 5.0

Should I now lie down quiet and sleep
Like kings and counselors have done,
Infants which never saw the light,
And ride the chariot clouds?
Cessation of life; released, at last,
Resembling a faded rose,
Quiet banishment from this earth,
Starry scope, imponderable realms.
Should I now, like kings and babes,
All-engulfing, overwhelming
Wake to everlasting life,
And ride the chariot clouds?
