The past is haunting,
It is always there, taunting.
Every moment that was ever had,
Is always there, good or bad.
There is no hiding,
For the past is always presiding.
The future is unknown.
It is to be, never written in stone.
Every success to come is nameless,
And every failure to arrive will be graceless.
There is no backing down,
For the future will always be around.
The present is a gift.
Because there are no questions or what ifs.
Right now is the perfect time,
To start a life that matches no rhyme.
And the minutes we have here may be numbered,
But your actions this very second can not be plundered.

A stitch in time saves nine. An insightful poem, well articulated and nicely brought forth with conviction. Lovely and very philosophical. Thanks for sharing Emma.
