You answered the call, inspiring a nation,
touching the hearts of future generations.
A bulldog breed with a will of steel,
discipline, courage, bravely revealed.
Making a difference, a gauntlet you threw,
medals you donned, with a goal to pursue.
Zimmer in hands, you gave us that hope,
such a terrifying time, all over the globe.
You gave us belief, uniting our nation,
we gave in return, our undying adoration.
Belying your age, it was an effort supreme,
what you achieved, was no impossible dream.
Many Millions you raised, doing it in style,
mile after mile, with your infectious smile.
A beacon of light, so humble and proud,
head never bowed, with valour endowed.
Sadly. you've passed, but your legacy remains,
your Herculean effort will never be in vain.
Stand easy soldier, with brothers in arms,
so, R.I.P Tom, our centurion superstar.
