River Poem by Katherine Bryce

River

Just so you know,
I still dream of you,
it's something I can't express,
if only you knew.

I don't like these dreams,
because they're years down the road,
who knew this river,
would have ever flow'd?

I saw you,
in the place you said you'd live,
nothing but a kiss,
did you give.

I tried to say I'm sorry,
but you wouldn't let me,
you took all the blame,
as if it was meant to be.

I backed away,
fear in my bones,
the feeling that I was,
hit with many stones.

The type of feeling that,
makes your head spin,
like the world I was living in,
had a twin.
