Rivets Poem by DJD Quick/dd

Rivets

I used to laugh
I used to smile
I used to look at myself and not cry
I used to think positively
I used to be in love

In the past, I was yours
I don't laugh or smile at this anymore
All you'll see is a frown
I don't look at myself without crying
I only think of my death

I was somebody else
Somebody I don't know anymore

You've left me with rivets
Rivets in my smile
Rivets in my laugh
Rivets in my heart.
