Rock Fort Lord Leads Kindly The Light! Poem by Dr.V.K. Kanniappan

Rock Fort Lord Leads Kindly The Light!

Cold wind is passing me,
While I was in slumber,
I was touched and patted
by the drizzling of rain
and the breeze!

Raindrops were dripping
aside me through the roof
with encircling darkness;
I peeped through the window
in the midst of my town!

There stood a tall hill,
at the top of which was
a Hindu Temple of Lord
‘Uchchip piLLaiyaar’; There..
was a only glowing lamp!

Is the lamp saying,
I am the top personality,
I am here guiding you,
I show you the path and way
Does it say, ‘The Lord is here’?

Who knows?
It is the secret between
the lamp which leads kindly
the light and the sculptures
in the temple tower!
