A SHADOW
by MD Ehteshaam Amman
A shadow dances across the wall
Jumping as it moves;
For, flickering flame of candle lit
Emboldens coveted silhouette.
Enigmatic shade of black
Portrait of a colour's lack;
Though presence is retained
Is thy eye seeking blame?
Dost thou acquiesce with time
Serendipitously befit;
Or, does thy fear of what is next
Cast a feeble hex?
Branding iron as tool for label
Serving dish brought to table;
Why to question, what if,
When on the wall is seen?
Shadow shares a special light
Bearing itself late at nite;
And, surely like lovers past,
This to will delightfully outlast. Blessings🌹
