Roller Coaster Angel Poem by Dave Tendell

Roller Coaster Angel

Tonight you look so innocent and beautiful as you lay sleeping alongside me.
Yesterday you were beautiful and unspoken.
The eve of yesterday you were vicious hateful and quite hideous.
Your moods changed fast, like a pubescent reaching puberty.

You are my Roller Coaster Angel
from precious Heaven above.
You soar to the highest mountains,
But plunge quickly to the ground.
Up or down. I love you…Look around.

Like the sudden plummet and rise of a roller coaster, being with you is often scary,
When you fall, we fall hard.
When you climb, energy becomes us.
Nevertheless, We are on the same ride for happiness to the end..

You are my Roller Coaster Angel
from precious Heaven above.
You soar to the highest mountains,
But plunge quickly to the ground.
Up or down. I love you…Look around.

The moods seem to come then go, like a racecar circling the track.
Sadly, you envision this as normal.
A tear falls, because you do not see.
I am your husband and greatest friend.

You are my Roller Coaster Angel
from precious Heaven above.
You soar to the highest mountains,
But plunge quickly to the ground.
Up or down. I love you…Look around.
Your true love…You have already found.

Good use of refrain: 'Your are my Roller Coaster Angel...' Sadly your slight typo is a distraction: '...you envision this as normal.' Done it myself many times. When my first book of poems sells big I'll be able to afford a proof reader. Tom
