Rosalie Poem by Edwina Reizer

Rosalie

Rosalie, sweet Rosalie
with those eyes of green,
greener than any meadow
or blade of grass I've seen.
You have captured every moment
that ever comes my way.
They glisten and shine like the sun
on every summer day.

I see them when I dream at night
gazing lazily.
They make me want to stay asleep
to know just what they see.
Do they see my adoration?
Do they see my fright?
Will they leave in the morning
and not be in my sight?

Rosalie, sweet Rosalie
I've given my heart to thee.
I have never had a second thought
to live inside of me
to undermine how strong I feel
whenever I see your eyes.
They've changed the way I think about green.
It's the color I idolize.
