Rose Neptune In The Hall Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Rose Neptune In The Hall

Rose Neptune in the Hall
And fell before him pages all
The incense in the hall
Redoubled its sweet scents
And on the golden floor
Servants red half liquid carpets lay
Whilst from all sides
Echoed haunting sounds.
Then the assembly of peers
Came sudden to consult
Thus
The meeting of consultation
Took place behind closed doors
For giant hands closed the oaken shutters.
